Freedom From Within

Eternal Portraits · Library of Congress · ISBN 0-7951-5227-2

A dream of freedom is not only wished on by the heart
It is engraved within the soul
As you journey out into the unsheltered wilderness
The freedom of home will comfort you always
You do not need to feel the warmth of your favorite blanket
Or smell the scent of your most beloved perfume
All you need to do is unshackle your limbs
And just fly
There need be no destination
Just a voyage full of challenge and discovery
You need not fear the unknown territory
Take a chance; shift away from the ordinary
Only you can make a bright, new start
So what are you waiting for
Let your inner self lead you to places you have never known
Find that paradise you deserve to hold

From My Pages

A Still Creek

A still creek represents calamity
He yearns for this, yet believes peace is unattainable
Always fearful of slowing down
Keep moving, is heard too often
Find warmth in the cold
Find comfort in thyself
Find refuge in one place
An unwelcome chill to be felt
Change pulls away from his comfort
Once realized he can begin
Even though halted, the creek is always free to move once ready

Together Producing a Dream

Together producing a dream
Music heard as a delicate symphony
A vision within the shadows
Sweet whispers sing under the wind
Love shining through the mist
Soaring into the skin of an elaborate picture
Like a moment’s gift
Always staring after the beauty of eternity

Water Sleeps Smoothly Beneath the Rain

Water sleeps smoothly beneath the rain
Aching to moan a scream
Next beat willed behind the near storm
Barely gone lathered out by a panting flood
Like after the cry of hot spray
Driving some blue into a red sea
Cool felt above its bitter swim
Hit weak and crushed on top
From lake manipulated in time
